HD Schrader, actually Hans-Dieter Schrader, is a German visual artist. He is particularly known for his so-called cube cracks, which can be attributed to concrete art.

From 1963 to 1965 he studied at the San Francisco Art Institute in the USA and from 1965 to 1969 at what was then the Werkkunstschule in Hamburg. In 1972 he was a co-founder of the artist group "IAFKG" (International Workgroup for Constructive Art) in Antwerp. the artists Ewerdt Hilgemann, Richard Paul Lohse, Marcello Morandini or François Morellet belonged. Hans Dieter Schrader lives and works in Hamburg and on Eiderstedt.

This work comes out of a special edition "Artist of the world” from Meissner Edition, Hamburg created for the German Lufthansa Airline in year 1985 and their first class passengers.
