OMEGA | Historic Dresswatch
Original Porclain Dial
Red 24-Hour
1920s
For your collection of incredibly well preserved Omega vintage watches, there is this historical Omega Dresswatch from the 1920s with an exquisite striking porcelain dial.
One extraordinary feature of this superbly dial, characterized by the highest level of craftsmanship, is the composition with a red contrasting 24-hour notation ring and another feature is the easy-to-read, offset (sub-) seconds display.
This collector's dream is one of the first very early wristwatches manufactured by Omega. It corresponds to a mid-size watch of today, but at the time it was the elegant men's version and only became available to a select few. Back then as well as today, the shape of the elegantly crafted case combined with the sophisticated enamel dial gives this watch such a presence that one would not want the case to be any larger on the wrist.
An incredibly flashy Omega in it's most smooth 1920s version - fantastique!

The origins of the Omega brand go back to Louis Brandt's Comptoir d'établissage, which he opened in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1848 at the young age of just 23. He traveled throughout Europe with the watches to personally deliver them to the appropriate customers. These days, Omega is one of the best-known international watch brands. When the name Omega is mentioned, one person thinks of the moon landing, the next of James Bond and yet another of the Olympics. But no less than such popular themes, the Biel-based company has dedicated itself to the everyday suitability of its watches: Magnetic field protection, precision in time display and innovative materials are the focus. Incidentally, the name Omega comes from a 19-line pocket watch caliber that the manufacture introduced in 1894. It impresses with its simple but very reliable construction, as well as the interchangeability of all components. This movement was given the name Omega. In the spring of 1894, the company registered "Omega" as a trademark. In 1947, the brand name came to the fore in the company name and since 1982 the company is simply called "Omega SA".
