Hysteric Glamour is a Japanese designer label founded in 1984 by artist Nobuhiko Kitamura.
The Japanese brand is known for its bold and provocative aesthetic, which combines elements of rock 'n' roll, pop culture and contemporary art. The collections are often characterized by vibrant prints, extravagant graphics and unique details. The brand has attracted significant popularity in the Japanese fashion scene and has also gained an international following.
The label's theme is musicians such as Marc Bolan, one of the inventors and protagonists of glam rock, as well as the Sex Pistols or David Bowie. Andy Warhol and his works of art make an appearance too. Other themes include comics, pornography, cars, packaging designs and neon signs. In Japan, there are now 51 stores in districts such as Harajuku, Aoyama, Shibuya and Shinjuku. International stores can be found in Hong Kong, London and Paris.
