Air King - Super Precision

For your collection of incredibly rare Rolex Oyster Perpetuals, there is this reference 5500 Air King from the early 1960s, with a very collectible 3-6-9 Explorer Honeycomb Dial in combination with indexes & hand-set in 18 carat solid gold.
This very special dial in pristine and 100% original condition has turned along the last >60 years into a beautiful "cream-colored" Patiana.
Two versions of this reference were produced, at the time: The "Precision" with the Rolex caliber 1520 and the "Super Precision" with the chronometer-certified Rolex caliber 1530. The model presented here is a Rolex "Super Precision". Then, as now: something quite special.

The watch received its last service from Rolex Headquarters, USA in 1993/1994. It is fitted with a matching brown Rolex leather strap including a gold Rolex folding clasp - a very unique piece for the Rolex vintage collection, especially as it has not been worn since.
We have given this timemachine a complete overhaul in 2024 and deliver it to you in excellent technical condition, including the Rolex Full Service Set as pictured & additional the original Rolex box from the period.
